Join us with your beautiful handmade Lanterns to Light Up Leamington Spa!
To bring the whole community together in a new and creative way to share in the spirit of Christmas, meet new people, create something wonderful, share smiles, and have a fun, magical evening lighting up our beautiful town centre.
Is for this to grow into an event that thousands of people can take part in every year so please spread the word.
The Lantern Parade will set off from The Royal Pump Rooms Gardens Bandstand at 4.30pm. The parade will be accompanied by a local band and finish with Christmas carols around the Tree of Lights at the Town Hall.
Please email us at: email@example.com or phone 01926 470 634
This Christmas we are collecting Toys for Local Children. The initiative is aimed at supporting families in our community who need a little extra help making their Christmas wishes come true. We appreciate your help in whatever donation that you are able to give. It doesn't matter how big or small, the only stipulation is that your gift must be new. If you wrap your gift up we just need to know if it's for a girl or boy and the approximate age between 0-18. All toys will be distributed to local children on Christmas Eve.
Please bring your gifts to one of the weekend lantern making workshop, or to the Lantern Parade on the 11th December where we will be collecting them by the Tree of Lights at the Town Hall.
Thank you for your generous support and we hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
The Leamington Art Gallery and Museum welcome you to 'loan' your Lanterns to them to display as part of a Leamington Lantern Exhibition from Friday 12th Dec - Sun 4th Jan. The Lanterns will be on display in the gallery for all to enjoy throughout the Christmas period.
Please contact the Art Gallery & Museum directly for details and don't forget to come and collect your Lanterns again on Sat 3rd/Sun 4th Jan otherwise it will be 'recycled!'. Contact T: 01926 742700 or Penelope.Thomas@warwickdc.gov.uk
Please remember to wear extra warm clothing and take care to keep small children close by.
If you are coming to watch, please remain in the area of the Parade and enjoy some late night shopping while you wait for the procession of wonderful lanterns to appear. Please try to keep to the footpaths while the procession passes. To find out more about the procession route and timings please click here.
